THE property firm which developed the multi-million pound Cathedral Square redevelopment has been recognised with an award.

The Salmon Harvester Opportunity Fund (SHOF) has been awarded a Revo Re:fresh gold award for a complete transformation by the retail property and placemaking industry body.

SHOF worked in partnership with the Worcestershire City Council, Worcestershire County Council and the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) to deliver the new square.

Beth Wilson, from REVO, described it as “a shining and vibrant example of city centre regeneration delivered through successful public private partnerships.”

The £20 million Cathedral Square welcomed big name brands such as H&M, Cosy Club, All Bar One, Byron Hamburgers, Miller and Carter, Fitness4Less, Yo Sushi!, Kung Fu, Starbucks and Wilko.

Councillor Lucy Hodgson described it as “a fantastic addition to Worcester’s city centre.”

“I’m delighted to see it recognised in this way," Cllr Hodgson said.

"The city council is working to ensure Worcester continues to be a prosperous city and Cathedral Square is making a big contribution to our economy, especially in attracting evening trade.”

Gary Woodman, chief executive of Worcestershire LEP, said: “We are delighted to hear that Cathedral Square has won a Revo Gold award.

“This is great recognition for a project that has modernised retail in Worcester and helped to boost the local economy.”
