FANS of Leicester Tigers and Worcester Warriors joined forces for Sunday’s match to help raise almost £2,000 for Heart Research UK.
Southco Manufacturing, located across the road from Sixways Stadium, opened their car park to fans of both teams to park, with the £5 charge going to charity.
Sue, Jules, Tom and Rus from the company were manning the car park and Sue added: “We charged £5 for parking but many fans kindly gave us more. Both Tigers and Warriors have a really lovely bunch of supporters.”
Southco Manufacturing then matched the total raised by fans, giving a total of £1,727.
Barbara Harpham, Chief Executive for Heart Research UK, said: “We’ve very grateful to fans of both Leicester Tigers and Worcester Warriors for their kind donations. With their help, we can carry on funding ground-breaking research and community projects to help the heart health of those in both Leicester and Worcester.”
