WORCESTERSHIRE firm Class People has won a prestigious award at a London ceremony.

Education Recruitment Company Class People won a national Recruiter Award for Best Temporary Recruitment Agency of the Year.

The awards ceremony was held on Thursday at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, and celebrated outstanding achievements by agencies and in-house recruiters across the UK.

The county-based supply agency, which has its headquarters at the Basepoint Business Centre in Bromsgrove, was set up by a former primary school teacher Lynis Bassett.

The firm had a restructure last year and has gone from strength-to-strength since.

The judges commended Class People for their "excellent work" giving back to schools and the education community.

The judges said: “As a small private company, they were going the extra mile to deliver exceptional service.

"The passion and enthusiasm were shining through.

"We were impressed by their innovation, especially around corporate responsibility.”

Lynis Bassett, chief executive of Class People, said: “We are over the moon to have won this award and be recognised for our hard work and commitment within the recruitment industry.

"We have a strong team and fantastic teaching staff and clients who all contribute to the successes of Class People.

"We look forward to continue making waves across the South West with our forward-thinking approach.”

Class People provide supply teachers, teaching assistants, SEN staff and early year’s practitioners to schools and settings across the South West.

Class People is one of the sponsors of this year's Worcester Education Awards, being jointly organised by the Worcester News and the University of Worcester.
