A TEAM from one of Worcestershire’s leading housing associations has won a leading community award.

Fortis Living’s communities and customer engagement team has won the central region team of the year at the Tenant Participation Advisory Service (TPAS) awards.

As a result of the award win the team now go forward to the national finals, which will be taking place on Thursday, July 12, at Chesford Grange in Warwickshire.

The award was unveiled on Friday, April 20, at St John’s Hotel in Solihull.

The TPAS Awards recognise and reward the unsung heroes in local communities who continue to drive up standards in social housing and are now in their 11th year.

Fortis Living has had previous success at the awards for a number of years.

Gemma Boulton, communities and customer engagement manager at Fortis Living said: “Winning this award is testimony to the team’s hard work and dedication to providing customer focused services and we are all justifiably proud of this achievement.

"The team is so diverse and that’s what makes them so special; they have a wide range of duties and skills including dealing with formal complaints, engaging with customers on improvements to service delivery, organising social activities for older people, providing targeted health and wellbeing initiatives and engaging with local communities to make a difference to our local areas.

"Well done to everybody involved and we look forward to the national awards in July.”

It is the latest good news for Fortis, which last month was shortlisted for a diversity award at Housing Awards 2018. Meanwhile work on Fortis's brand new office base in Midland Road got underway earlier this year.
