A WORCESTER barber has proved their customer service is a cut above the rest.

Jon Bourne, who owns Barbertown in the city, has been presented with an award at the Modern Barber Awards, (Mobass), which celebrates the industry.

The barber shop was nominated for two Mobass awards, the best body of work and the best customer experience.

Mr Bourne said the second award was the main one they wanted to win, so everyone was thrilled when they learned they had won at a London ceremony earlier this month.

Mr Bourne said: "We are pleased with the win.

"The Mobass are a one of the main industry awards, so it is quite an accolade, and a good thing to have that public recognition."

The firm has two shops in Worcester, in St John's and The Tything, and a third in Barnards Green Road, Malvern.

Mr Bourne has more than 25 years in the barbering industry, and is a member of the artistic team for Hairbond and is often requested to judge barbering events, as well regularly holding masterclasses in London.

In 2015 he was presented with the British Master Barber Award for his contribution to the British barbering industry.
