A WORCESTERSHIRE recruitment firm will attempt to raise thousands for a local hospice through its annual golf event.

Staff at the Redditch headquartered Workforce Staffing is hosting its golf event at Blackwell Golf Club on Friday, July 6, where golfers will raise funds for Primrose Hospice.

The charity needs almost £2m each year to continue to operate its care services.

The day will start at 11am with breakfast and will end with a two-course evening meal. The cost for a team of four is £400 with golfers set for a variety of prizes including for the longest drive and a special closest to the pin contest.

Workforce Staffing’s managing director Joe Alekna said: “Our golf day always attracts brilliant support from kind-hearted individuals and local businesses who want to help us raise funds for a wonderful cause.

“This year we are hoping to raise around £3,000 for Primrose Hospice, which is our chosen charity again this year.

"We have already seen a fantastic response but places are limited so I’d urge people to contact us to get involved if they would like to be part of a fantastic day of golf and fundraising.”

Primrose Hospice relies heavily on voluntary donations. It offers support to patients who have been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness and their family, including children through their Day Hospice and Family Support services.

Kate Kelly, corporate fundraising manager from Primrose Hospice, said "Workforce Staffing have shown tremendous support to Primrose through their charity of year partnership raising in excess of £11,000 in support of Primrose to date.

"We are so very grateful for their continued support."
