WORCESTER’S family jewellers WH Peplow in High Street has opened a new modern and contemporary store called g6 Jewellery, just around the corner in Pump Street.

The shop will commemorate the sixth generation of Peplow in the business, which was established in 1818.

Newly crowned Miss Worcester, Katie Sinclair performed the opening ceremony, her first official engagement since winning the title.

Along with owner Francis Peplow, she welcomed customers with champagne and cup cakes.   The first 50 customers, who had been queuing beforehand, were rewarded with a complimentary Pandora charm.

The new store offers a range of jewellery from Swarovski and Ortak to Pandora, which is particularly known for its charm bracelets.

Customers were asked to guess when the Pandora bracelet would drop from the thumb of a hand ice sculpture, to the nearest hour and minute.

The winner received £1000 to spend in the g6 store.

Jo Bourne, Peplow’s manager, said: “Pandora was one of the reasons for opening g6 Jewellery, it has been hugely successful in our existing store and we felt that opening g6 would create a relaxed and exclusive shopping experience.

“We are able to provide customers with more products including their new spring summer range, earrings, rings and necklace collections.”
