ONE of Malvern’s most enthusiastic charity fund-raisers has opened her own shop.

Sarah Grout runs the Malvern Event Organiser in Church Walk which not only stocks supplies and decorations to fit out many children’s and adults fund-raising or themed events, but is also a box office selling tickets for local groups, associations and school events.

Mrs Grout has a background organising events for the travel trade, conferences and working for charities.

She has worked in fund-raising for Macmillan Cancer Support, served as a Rotarian, Malvern Jogger, former PTA chairman and volunteer for Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Now she is keen to put her charity and community interests at the heart of the business. She said: “The Malvern Event Organiser aims to be a one-stop shop for the amateur event organiser, whether for business, pleasure or leisure.

“By offering a range of party supplies, an up-to-date community events diary, event planning service, website and box office facility for even the smallest of events we hope that we will be seen as the community event organiser’s friend.

“For those people who are looking for things to do, then we will have plenty of events on offer in their community to get them out more often.”

The Malvern Event Organiser is supporting a different charity every month through in-store promotions, collections and a locally-run event.

The first charity being supported is Macmillan Cancer Support and Mrs Grout is asking other registered charities to contact malvernevents@aol.com to apply to be the future chosen charity.
