WORCESTERSHIRE County Council is helping employers improve their staff's work-life balance and introduce flexibility in the workplace.

The council is running a series of workshops and training sessions for bosses from across the county.

The next interactive workshop will look at techniques such as brain gym, yoga at your desk, relaxation techniques and other methods to help staff de-stress, which in turn helps them to be more productive.

The project, called Adjust the Balance, has been very successful and has already involved more than 150 employers across the county.

The forum for Worcestershire employers is held regularly to share best practice in human resources management and, in particular, work-life balance.

Project manager Jo Randall said: "I have been delighted to access the additional funding to deliver management training to employers to help them look after their most important asset of all - their employees.

"We have had a cross-section of employers attend both the training and the forums from all sectors and sizes.

"The feedback has been really positive and already we are seeing new policies and practices being introduced in the organisations to help manage their staff flexibly, to deal with workplace stress and to offer different work patterns."

The training sessions have been paid for using money from the European Social Fund.

The next event is a free workshop called Implementing a work-based wellness programme'.

It takes place in Worcester on Thursday, November 9, from 9.30am to 4pm.
