I live in Warndon (the only candidate to live in the division) and know many of the issues: anti-social behaviour, the state of the roads, pavements and shabby estates being a few.

The Council is still top-heavy with managers, despite recent ‘cuts’. Pay and management need to be addressed. The Chief Executive is paid more than the Prime Minister. This is wrong. Non-essential services should be axed and management streamlined.

I support freezing council tax and business rates. Hard-pressed taxpayers do not need further financial burdens on them, and businesses need to stay competitive.

I support the dualling of the Southern Link Road and a Norton Parkway railway station. Better transport links will be good for the city in the long-term.

I oppose the Hartlebury Incinerator. I believe the environmental and health concerns have been glossed-over, and that it could cost well above the stated £125m.

There are cheaper and more environmentally-friendly options available. We should look at these in more detail.

Future PFI arrangements need to be better negotiated to give best value to taxpayers.

We need better-quality longer-lasting road repairs. The current approach is not working very well and probably costs more over the long-term.

UKIP councillors do not have to toe the party line, so I’ll be free to put resident’s concerns before anything else.

Change is in the air. Vote UKIP and make it a reality.
