VICTORIAN toys, magical story times and arts and crafts will help to entertain children at The Elgar Birthplace Museum during the school holidays.

Families will be able to enjoy fun activities at the museum in Broadheath every Wednesday from July 23 to August 27.

The museum will be brimming with fun crafts and activities, games and a special sticker trail to enjoy.

There will be craft activities to make kites, violins and a chance to try Elgar’s science station.

Youngsters can also create Victorian toys and games from thaumatropes to toy theatres and get hands on with a wonderful selection of Victorian toys and objects.

Lucy Maycock, graduate trainee, said: “We can’t wait to welcome families to The Elgar Birthplace Museum for our new Summer Holiday Club.

"There will be so much for everyone to do, plus with fun activities every Wednesday, you’ll never be short of things to do with the kids this summer.”

Children will go on a magical adventure during the special Storytelling event on Wednesday, August 6.

During the day, families will be able to go on an adventure for a magical carpet ride and befriend mischievous fairies as storyteller Sue Andrews creates wonderful tales.

All activities are suitable for children aged five and above and are free with admission.

The club takes place from 11am to 4.30pm.
