MORE than 1,000 visitors turned out to a traditional village show.

Crowds queued up for the opening of the event, in the grounds of Bretforton Manor, on Saturday (September 13).

The show raised funds for St Richard’s Hospice, the Worcestershire charity which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.

It included performances from Bretforton’s Silver Band, and demonstrations from Worcester Owl Conservation Group, the North Cotswold Pony Club and British Vintage Motorbikes.

Craft stalls, refreshments and a real ale tent from the Fleece Inn were also on offer.

Children were kept entertained with a variety of play activities from face painting to pony rides.

Many took the opportunity to look around the gardens of the manor, which dates back to the 1600s.

St Richard’s Hospice provides free palliative care for patients living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and supports their families.

Each year the hospice team supports more than 2,500 patients and family members in the county.
