A FORMER jockey will share experiences and anecdotes at a fundraising dinner.

Colin Brown, best known for his partnership with the legendary Desert Orchid, will speak at Worcester Racecourse next month.

When riding 'Dessie', Mr Brown won 17 races from 42 rides.

He has ridden at all the top racecourses in the country and saddled more than 400 winners.

Mr Brown has competed in steeplechasing's most high profile races, including the Grand National eight times, and is now a qualified coach.

At the event, on Thursday, October 9, all cash raised will be divided between St Richard's Hospice, Worcestershire Hunt and the Injured Jockeys Fund.

Alison Parkes, senior fundraiser for St Richard’s Hospice, said; “This is a great opportunity for anyone keen on horse racing to get together with friends or colleagues over a delicious three course dinner, hear about Colin’s racing career and pick up some tricks of the trade.

"After the entertaining after dinner speech, people will have the chance to bid for some interesting horse racing related items in a small auction and raffle.”

Tickets cost £30 per person or £300 for a table of 10.
