CECIL Duckworth OBE planted at a care home in Worcester to mark World Alzheimer's Day yesterday (Sunday, September 21).

The tree was placed on the 'Pathway to Memory Lane' at Latimer Court by Mr Duckworth, the founder of Worcester Bosch and executive chairman of Worcester Warriors.

In the course of the day, residents and relatives enjoyed food and a performance by singer Jessie Bolas.

The home cares for people living with Alzheimer’s disease and other kinds of dementia in its Memory Lane community – which aims to encourage active and enjoyable living.

Karen Hancox, general manager, said: “Our Memory Lane community is at the heart of the home and so it’s very important that we do something special to mark World Alzheimer’s Day.

"We have all really enjoyed today and there have been some fantastic stories being told by the residents about what they got up to in their youth.”
