PLANS to build ten new homes in the St John’s area of Worcester have been given the go-ahead.

The application for four semi-detached houses and two terraces each with three homes at Persimmon Heights in Bransford Road was granted by Worcester City Council’s planning committee on Thursday, November 13.

The plans replaced an already-approved application to build six four-bedroom homes at the site, but senior planning officer Alan Coleman said developer Persimmon Homes had submitted the revised scheme as there is little demand at the moment for larger houses.

Committee member Cllr Lynn Denham said it was interesting the developer had decided to revise their scheme.

“It’s an interesting reflection on the housing market in Worcester that this has come to us,” she said.

“The larger detached properties are just not sellable.”

The plans – which also include two off-road parking spaces for each home – were granted unanimously.
