BUDDING Beckhams and promising Peles took to the fields of Inkberrow for an inter schools football tournament this term.
Six schools sent teams of Year 4 pupils to take part in the Avonbrook Annual Football Tournament hosted at Inkberrow Eagles.
It was a closely fought event but Inkberrow First School competed against Crowle, Flyford Flavell, Himbleton, Inkberrow, Pinvin and Upton Snodsbury First Schools to come out on top.
Graham Begley, teacher at Inkberrow, said: "It was a really great morning of football. It was great to see all six cluster schools enjoying themselves in each match no matter their experience of the game previously.
"It was a very close contest with three schools all finishing on the same number of points with Inkberrow edging victory by scoring the most number of goals. The children were so proud of themselves, to be bringing a trophy back for Mrs Thomson."
And Heather Thomson, headteacher, added: "Excellent tournament. All teams played each other really close at the end with teams tying on points.
"Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the morning and a big thanks to Inkberrow Eagles for hosting the tournament."
