ALTHOUGH most people are on a diet in January we enjoyed a fish and chips supper at our meeting,

President welcomed members and as Linda had kindly fetched the fish and chips we all sat down to eat these before any business. Kate and Liz made us all tea or coffee together with a good selection of biscuits and Mary, who had celebrated an important birthday earlier this month, brought some tasty cakes.

Everyone then being very full we first gave cards and sang Happy Birthday to Linda and Rosemary, whose birthday falls before our next meeting.

Worcester University are organising a 'Walk to the Moon and Back' and had asked WI members to participate so we hope to organise a ramble in the better weather and perhaps have sessions on an exercise bike to contribute as many miles as we can. There is a Creative Craft show at the Three Counties Showground on February 26-28.

Our final skittles match was played the day before the meeting which we won so our final score is won 3 lost 2, a result we are very pleased with.

The Treasurer was busy collecting subscriptions for 2015 so Janet Allbutt kindly agreed to collect the money for our pantomime trip the following Thursday to see Robinson Crusoe at Ombersley.

Janet Murphy, our President, then distributed a pantomime quiz with on the reverse side either a games quiz or a film quiz and these were won by Mary, Leigh and Kate respectively. We used pennies (collected for ACWW) to decide the winner of our monthly competition for an object we'd found and Kate was the winner with some old clay pipes. There was a varied selection of objects including a necklace found 70 years ago, a cup found on boundary wall, an old milk token and amusingly a ladder in a pair of tights.

The raffle was drawn and the meeting ended at about 9.30pm. We meet again on Tuesday, February 17 at 7.30pm at Whittington village hall and Monika Garrido will demonstrate 'Finger Foods'. Please feel free to join us either as a visitor or potential new member. You will be given a warm welcome.
