BEACONS, the development education centre for Herefordshire and Worcestershire, is holding its 10th annual conference.

The event will take place at the University of Worcester conference centre on Saturday, March 14, from 10am to 4pm.

Topics will include climate change, economic poverty, water, women and development education.

The conference will offer participants "an opportunity to consider and influence our future", as the United Nations prepares sustainable development goals for the next 15 years.

Beacons is a charity which "promotes awareness and respect for the variety of cultures, religions and societal practices of people across the world and an understanding of the environmental challenges we face as a global society", according to its website.

Entry to the conference costs £15 including lunch and refreshments, but is free for students.
