A SCHOOL in Droitwich has been praised by Ofsted for "improving rapidly" since its last inspection.
Chawson First School, of Wych Road, was visited by the regulator in February and a report grading the school good was published on Thursday, March 26.
It had previously been rated as requiring improvement.
Inspectors recognised the "good leadership and management" at the school which has had a "positive impact on improving the quality of teaching".
Pupils have similarly been praised for being "highly enthusiastic" and for showing a "real pride in their learning" while the "vast majority of parents are positive about the school and talk knowledgeably about how it has improved".
Standards at the end of year four in reading, writing and mathematics are also "above the levels expected nationally", according to inspectors.
Chawson First School however was not rated as outstanding because "occasionally pupils do not understand exactly what is expected of them in lessons".
