A VOLUNTEERING far in Tenbury Wells will be opened by Harriett Baldwin MP.

The event aims to encourage people to get involved with volunteering and showcases some of the organisations looking for new volunteers.

It takes places on Friday, June 5 from 10am to 2pm in the Regal's Community Centre as part of National Volunteers' Weel.

Jacqueline Smith, volunteer development worker for Malvern Hills Volunteering, said: "Volunteering is fun, challenging and rewarding and volunteers benefit tremendously – learning new skills, getting back into paid work, improving physical or mental well-being, and meeting interesting people.

"The fair is a great opportunity for people to meet local organisations and find out how they can get involved.

"Up to 20 local groups will be represented, entry is free and complimentary tea, coffee and cake is available for all visitors."

The fair is being organised by Malvern Hills Volunteering, South Worcestershire Citizens Advice Bureau and Malvern Hills District Council.
