Droitwich Women's Institute

DROITWICH WI enjoyed splendid spring sunshine for their well attended March meeting.

The speaker, Brian Thompson, gave an informative and interesting talk on fire safety, which provoked a lot of questions.

We learned how to service our fire alarms, and about various new types of alarms in use – for instance, heat alarms for the garage if it is used for a car or tumble dryer.

He also gave out the dedicated special phone number for the local fire headquarters.

We will all now keep our chosen fire escape route clear of obstructions, and with the door key handy.

After reviewing plans for hosting the group meeting, to be held on October 14, members heard news of the skittles team.

At least four members hope to join the county mini garden break to Devon in May.

Visits to the Spring Meadow for lunch, and the Norbury Theatre to see Annie, have also been arranged.

The April meeting is being held at David’s Nursery, where Reg Moule will give us a talk and demonstration, followed by tea and cake.
