GREEN-thinking people who recycle waste have graduated as master composters.
Fourteen volunteers from across Herefordshire and Worcestershire received certificates for their dedication to composting at a special event at Worcester Woods Country Park.
The volunteers gave up 30 hours of their time to a scheme run by national company Garden Organic; encouraging other residents to home compost, giving tips on how to compost better, organising and attending green events, giving talks and demonstrations.
Councillor Anthony Blagg, Worcestershire County Council’s cabinet member for waste and sustainability, said: “The volunteers are highly valued and we are extremely grateful for all their hard work over the last couple of years. Those highly active volunteers were awarded certificates to crown them with the title of master composter. We hope this will inspire more residents to take a step forward and volunteer their time and knowledge for all things green and growing.”
