TWENTY-SIX members arrived for the AGM and were given a glass of sherry on arrival.
The meeting opened with the singing of Jerusalem.
The minutes of the October meeting were taken as read.
A total of £18.50 has been sent off for Pennies for Friendship.
Margaret Gearey gave a report on the very successful autumn group meeting.
The annual council report was given by Ann Ballard.
The walking group has put away their boots until the spring.
The next meeting for the play reading group is November 24, and the craft group will be meeting on November 22 at the home of June Nicholson.
The next skittles match will be in January.
The resolutions will be in the next magazine and members were asked to fill in their slip and hand to the secretary at the Christmas lunch.
The proposal of moving the annual meeting from November to May to combine with the resolutions meeting was agreed.
The annual meeting commenced as the minutes of the 2010 AGM were read, agreed and signed.
The treasurer presented the annual statement which was adopted.
The secretary gave the committee’s annual report which was unanimously adopted.
Ann Ballard then agreed to conduct the next part of the meeting.
Two members of the committee have stood down this year and two new volunteers have agreed to take their place.
The committee was elected en bloc and Judy Lee was unanimously elected president.
The meeting ended with tea and delicious cakes being served.
The raffle was won by Wendy Moseley and the competition by Mary Gray with Jenny Marsh second.
