WE had a lovely 90th birthday celebration year, with various extra activities, finishing our birthday party in October.
Now it is a new WI year coming up with a new president, Mary Kipping, and a re-formed committee.
We shall have our usual cake stall at the Christmas fair on December 4, all contributions gratefully received.
The Denman Bursary was redrawn as the two previous winners felt unable to use it. Julia Roberts was third time lucky.
Details were given of the Federation Denman courses in September 2012.
Sheila suggested that members each give one Christmas card at the December meeting to include all friends and members and this was readily accepted.
Ann Meridith guided us through the AGM business. We all thanked Helen for her three years as president, Gwyneth for coping with all the finances and Mary for her hard work over many years as secretary.
We agreed to change the date of the AGM to May.
The competition for the autumn pudding produced some yummy entries, most of which were consumed with the tea and coffee.
The winners were Mary Kipping, Poppy Morris and Jean Hyslop.
Members went home happily looking forward to the December meeting.
New members and visitors are always welcome at Heaton House on the second Wednesday of the month, starting at 7.30pm.
