AT our March meeting, after the homage and silent tribute, the chairman confirmed that the Poppy Cup had been won this year by the Blue Bell at Callow End.

The chairman also thanked those members who attended the county AGM at Bromsgrove in January John Mason gave a report on the activities of Group Three and the date for the inter-branch skittles competition has been fixed for Friday, July 13, at RBL Claines, with each team consisting of six players.

Currently, we are looking at six or eight teams competing for the cup, which has been sponsored by Powick and Callow End branch John also advised the membership that Group Three are planning to hold a ‘Drum Head Service’ this summer, possibly on the recreation ground at Ombersley or Claines and all branches in the group will be invited to participate.

Future branch business will include looking to confirm the names of six members, who wish to play skittles and we will be thinking about our return skittles fixture with the WI in the summer.

The next branch meeting will be at Madresfield Club on Tuesday, May 8, starting at 8.15pm.
