WE had a great turnout for our open meeting in April.
Our speaker gave a lively and nostalgic talk and slide show on the Swinging Sixties, we enjoyed delicious cakes with our tea and coffee, tested our knowledge with a Sixties quiz, and had a full trading table laden with home produced goodies.
We also looked through our archive albums dating back to 1943 on display and oohed and aahed at photos of us in the 60s.
A few went home with raffle prizes and the evening ended in laughter with a couple of hilarious monologues.
I hope some of our visitors might have enjoyed themselves enough to be persuaded to join us.
We are looking forward to a visit in a couple of weeks to the Back to Backs in Birmingham and at the end of April a sponsored walk through Monkwood to see the bluebells (with lunch).
Let’s hope the weather continues to be mainly good – and we are not caught in one of these strange sleet showers with lumps of ice the size of golf balls.
