AT our March meeting, we had a most interesting cookery demonstration by Liz Hughes – how to prepare meals in minutes.

Most of us have introduced her recipes into family mealtimes with great success.

There was a complete change with the April meeting, which is what WI is all about.

Chris Jordan came to tell us about the Emily Jordan Foundation which was set up in memory of his daughter, killed while water boarding on holiday in New Zealand.

The foundation’s aims are to help people with different degrees of learning disabilities, people who are regarded as unemployable and unreliable.

This is very far from true.

Spokes is part of the foundation where bicycles are renovated and sold and a new project is Twigs, focusing on horticulture and ground maintenance.

We could have listened and learned for hours to all the forthcoming plans.

After our refreshment break, the business meeting followed.

Members have been to a brilliant Aga cookery demonstration, informal coffee mornings for a gossipy get-together and Audrey gave a most interesting report of the spring area meeting.

We intend to have our usual cake stall at the village fete and combine it with a promotion event.

The summer outing is hopefully a visit to the Water Mill at Shelsley followed by a meal at a local hostelry.

Visitors and new members are always very welcome to give us a taster to find out more.
