AT our May meeting, we welcomed two visitors.
It was the usual resolutions meeting and this year it was to ask if the Government should invest more money in the training of midwives, as apparently there is a shortage.
Ann Meredith, our WI adviser, took us through the discussion and opinion was divided so it was decided to ask Julie, our president, who will be going to the AGM, to use her discretion at the meeting.
The usual minutes were read out together with correspondence.
The bursary was drawn and the lucky person was Melody.
The Mary Pugh trophy was won by Julie and the competition for this month was also won by Julie, who exhibited an arrangement depicting an Olympic Torch theme.
Tea was served by Deanna and helpers.
