ON Wednesday, May 2, vicepresident Pat Smith chaired the meeting, and we wish president Jean a speedy recovery.

Members are asked to support the table top sale (bric-a-brac) on Saturday, between 10am and 2pm at the Baptist Church.

The Diamond Jubilee event will be in Jean’s garden on Wednesday, June 6, at 2pm.

Please bring small sandwiches and cakes for eating.

The stalls will be cakes, jams and pickles, books, plants (no brica- brac). Friends and visitors are welcome.

On July 6, there will be a visit to Stratford-upon-Avon, leaving Rotary House at 10am. Places are still available for friends and visitors, We collected £82.90 at our April meeting for the Air Ambulance.

We had a discussion concerning the resolution about the shortages of midwives. This is to be presented at the AGM in the Albert Hall. There was a unanimous vote in favour.
