The Windmill café at Worcestershire County Council's Waseley Hills Country Park has a new tenant  - Samantha Miles.

After running the Windmill Café for a few years, previous tenant, John Williams decided it was time to move on to other things.

Earlier last month Samantha took on the tenancy of the café at the country park in the north of the county and is no stranger to it.#

She started working there part-time eight years ago doing washing up at the weekend. When she was 17 she went full-time and has since gained the skills and experience to allow her to first become manager and now hold the tenancy for this popular café.

Regular visitors will still be able to delight in the good food and friendly atmosphere they have come to know over the past few years.

The council's countryside team leader, Liz Nether said: "We are delighted Sam has decided to take on the tenancy and to keep running the café. Our regular customers will be glad to hear that the good food and friendly atmosphere they have come to know over the past few years are going to continue and we look forward to welcoming new visitors to the café and the country park."

The country park has recently been awarded its green flag for the second year running for its well-managed and high quality green spaces.

It is open daily, with pedestrian access 24 hours, vehicular access from 8am until dusk or 8pm (whichever comes earlier). The visitor centre is open between 10am until 5pm in summer and 10am to 4pm in winter.

Admission is free.
