To celebrate the opening of The Hive, Worcestershire's brand new library and history centre, Vamos Theatre presents a special promenade performance; Offal Tales. The new land mark building, a partnership between Worcestershire County Council and the University of Worcester, will be brought to life on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th July.

Staged throughout level one of the new building, this full mask show will be an evocative mix of history and hilarity, telling stories of the people and places of Worcester's cattle market, where The Hive now stands. Expect mask and puppets, evocative music, singing pigs and dancing cows! The show is suitable for family audiences, and there is wheelchair access.

With two shows a day at 5pm and 7.30pm tickets are available at The Hive one hour before each show from the main entrance. This is a free event and chance to see inside this beautiful new building and celebrate the sites history. Please do bring a flat cap if you have one, as all ticket holders will be issued with a flat cap to wear, and you may prefer to wear your own!

Steve Wilson, County Arts Officer at Worcestershire County Council, said "The Hive marks an exciting new chapter in the history of Worcester and this exciting performance of Offal Tales is a great opportunity for residents to see the memories brought to life. The land where The Hive now sits was home to some real characters whose memories really bring to life what this part of Worcester was like many years ago."

The performances of Offal Tales will bring to life the recordings which form part of the Beyond the City Walls exhibition currently presented in The Studio at The Hive. The exhibition explores memories of the site's Cattlemarket, the Almshouses in Croft Walk, living in Netherton Lane and working at The Butts Corporation Depot. All the scenes in this spectacular performance shows the memory capture which has been discovered by the Archive and Archaeology Service here at The Hive.
