Worcestershire Walking for Health - Our Olympic Challenge
2:01pm Friday 27th July 2012 in County Bulletin
Worcestershire County Council and the local PCT/NHS want everyone in Worcestershire to get involved in the Walking for Health Olympic Challenge.
To celebrate the 2012 London Olympics we are going for gold and aiming to walk a collective total of more than 2012 hours during the 15 day period.
Join us for a short walk in your area, every minute you walk with us will add to our goal of achieving 2012 hours. It’s a great time to improve your health and make new friends.
The walks will be taking place in towns across Worcestershire, where people can take part for free.
Jon White, Worcestershire County Council's Health Walks Officer, said: "If you walk more it makes you happier, healthier and could even help you live longer."
Walking for Health began in Worcestershire in 1999 and has increased to the current level of 23 groups in towns across the County with 31 walks weekly.
"We can walk further, together. Let's walk more and live longer."
The Olympic Fortnight is July 27 – August 12
