POLICE found drug dealing equipment when they raided a house in Charles Henry Road, Droitwich, in November last year, Worcester Crown Court was told.

In Michael Parry's bedroom were scales and resealable bags used in dealing, said Paul Whitfield, prosecuting. The walls were covered with an armoury of weapons, along with a stab vest.

Parry, aged 20, who pleaded guilty to three charges of possessing a class B drug, was sentenced to 10 months in a young offenders institution but it was suspended for 12 months. He will be under the supervision of the probation service for 12 months and must pay £1,200 costs.

Judge Michael Cullum also ordered the confiscation of the stab vest, which Parry had used for protection.

Jason Patel, for Parry, said he started dealing in cannabis when his mother and sister lost their jobs and money became tight in the household.

The judge commented that Parry was prepared to make money in a criminal way out of someone with a drug addiction. He ordered that £320 cash found in the police raid should be confiscated.
