POLICE in Droitwich are appealing for witnesses after a stolen car was abandoned near Briar Mill recently.

The keys to the Landrover Discovery had been stolen in a burglary in the Hallow are of Worcester on Monday, August 18 at approximately 7.50pm.

The owner, a 64-year-old woman, heard the vehicle being driven away from the property and reported its theft to police immediately.

The Landrover was spotted by police at approximately 8pm in Briar Mill where it was abandoned by three men who left the scene in a black Volvo.

A second policing patrol later spotted the Volvo between Copcut Island and the village of Martin Hussingtree, and it was stopped with the three men arrested on suspicion of theft at approximately 8.10pm

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw either the Landrover, registration L923 BDD, or the black Volvo during the course of the evening.

PC Foxall from West Mercia Police, said: “We are looking for additional witnesses in and around Briar Mill who may be able to describe the occupants of either vehicle. While we have three arrested, any further information will help to assist in our enquiries.”
