RESIDENTS at Rashwood Care Home in Droitwich received a special visit this week, from royalty.
Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Gloucester is a patron of Elizabeth Finn Care which runs the home, and visited for a tour of the building and its grounds.
Rashwood’s general manager Helen Grice commented, “It was such a pleasure to show Her Royal Highness around Rashwood and for her to join us for afternoon tea. Rashwood has a wonderful history and our residents were delighted to be able to show the Duchess Of Gloucester around. It really was such a special afternoon and one which our residents will certainly remember for a long time.”
84-year-old resident Nora Aird added: “She was very friendly and really interested in hearing about all of the different activities that we get to do here at Rashwood. I’ve never met a member of the royal family before and so it was a very memorable day for me.”
The Duchess, who is married to the Queen’s cousin, lives in Kensington Palace alongside Prince William and his family.
She said: “I was reading only this morning in the newspaper that just 30 minutes of walking every day can make such a difference to your health. Looking around the beautiful grounds here I can see that there are plenty of opportunities to do that,” adding with a joke, “There are also some lovely grounds where I live and will endeavour to do the same.”
