BUSINESSES in and around Droitwich are being invited to take advantage of a free digital skills training workshop and mentoring session.

The free ‘Digital Essentials’ training is being supported by Worcestershire.Business.Central and Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership and offered to all Worcestershire-based small and medium sized businesses until the end of March at a number of different locations around the county.

A free one-to-one mentoring session will also be available after the workshop.

Councillor Simon Geraghty, Worcestershire County Council cabinet member for economy, skills and infrastructure, said: “Digital Essential workshops are ideal for businesses wanting to gain an understanding and grounding in cyber security, digital branding and broader digital skills such as social media strategies. I would encourage all Worcestershire-based SMEs to take advantage of these free workshops.”

Peter Pawsey, executive chairman of the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, added: “The National Cyber Skills Centre in Malvern is the recognised centre of excellence for digital skills. These free workshops will hugely benefit local SMEs but places are limited and so I would urge businesses to register at the earliest opportunity. Cyber Security is one of Worcestershire’s key growth sectors and offers massive quality job opportunities for our young people in the future.”

There are currently 21 workshops with 240 places on offer. For more information or to book a place, visit cyberskillscentre.com/essentials. For a free workshop enter the voucher code NCSC-DE.
