HOLIDAYMAKERS have been warned to take care that their pets don't pick up any bugs abroad this summer.
The British Veterinary Association (BVA) is urging owners to take care as diseases are often transmitted to pets by biting insects such as mosquitoes.
The BVA is advising owners to visit a vet three weeks ahead of travel to discuss the country you are travelling to and any health risks that may pose for your pet.
