PEOPLE in Droitwich are being invited to give their feedback on proposals to change the way street traders apply for permission to operate once new rules come in to make all streets in Wychavon district ‘consent streets’ for the purpose of controlling street trading in them.

The change is due to take effect from September 1, and means that anyone carrying out on-street trading activities, would need to hold a street trading consent granted by the district council.

It follows on from a public consultation on street trading conducted last year, and the council is now seeking views on the a draft street trading policy, setting out how applications should be made and processed.

The draft policy will also set out everything to be considered when determining an application.

Anyone who currently carries out street trading in the district, and anyone who feels thy might be affected by street trading is welcome to join in with the debate

The draft policy and consultation document can be downloaded from wychavon.gov.uk/streettrading, and the consultation will be open for responses until Friday, July 31.

Copies of the draft policy and consultation document can also be obtained from the contact centre in Droitwich, or residents can call 01905 822799 to request a hard copy.

Anyone who wants to respond to the consultation should return it to wrsenquiries@worcsregservices.gov.uk using the subject line “Wychavon Street Trading Policy Consultation”, or by post to: Wychavon Street Trading Policy Consultation, Worcestershire Regulatory Services, Wyre Forest House, Finepoint Way, Kidderminster DY11 7WF, by Friday, July 31.
