A NEW community noticeboard has been installed as part of the housing development being built in Newland Lane.

The Newland Manor development falls within the Hindlip, Martin Hussingtree and Salwarpe Parish Council, and developers Bellway Homes, provided the board, to keep the new residents up to date with events taking place in the local community.

The council put in a request for the notice board when work first started on the 63 homes in the development in January 2014, and all the homes are now occupied.

Deputy chairman of the council, Barbara Meddings, said: “The noticeboard will help to integrate new and existing residents in the area and hopefully encourage them to come together and take part in meetings and community events.

“Bellway appreciated the need for a local community noticeboard and we would like to thank them for their generous donation.”

Bellway sales manager Kevin Brogan said: “We value our role in building communities. If there is a way in which we can help our residents to settle into their surroundings and to integrate the new development within the wider community, we are always happy to help.

“The noticeboard looks great and we hope it will encourage our residents to get involved with events in the community.”
