CHILDREN at Westacre Middle School organised a spur of the moment fundraiser this week to help people in Nepal.
The youngsters were responding to the devastating earthquake which took place in Nepal on Saturday, killing thousands of people.
Pupils and staff took part in a 1km run for Kathmandu on Friday, raising more than £620 for the appeal.
Headteacher Donna Evans, said: “'We are incredibly proud and grateful to our pupils and their families for supporting us in showing compassion from one community to another.”
More money is still to come in from sponsors, all of which will be added to the money being donated to Oxfam’s Nepal Earthquake Appeal.
