VOLUNTEER drivers are being sought to help out with the town’s community transport service, which helps residents who are unable to use conventional public transport.

The service is organised through the Droitwich Spa and Rural Council for Voluntary Service, and aims to support local residents in remaining independent and reduce the risk of exclusion from society.

The scheme is delivered by volunteer drivers, to pick people up from their door in a car or wheelchair adapted vehicle, and drop them off anywhere from doctors, opticians and hospital appointments, to day centres, social activities, or even to visit friends or family.

The service is organised through the Droitwich Spa and Rural Council for Voluntary Service. Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer driver and helping out with the town’s community transport service, should call the service on 01905 779115.
