MEMBERS of Droitwich Arts Network (DAN) who aren’t professional artists are getting a chance to see their work exhibited in public at Hanbury Hall this month.

The National Trust property, which usually charges people to use its gallery space, makes an allowance each year for community groups like DAN, and there will be all kinds of artwork on display from local artists, including paintings, pastels, photography, jewellery and sculpture.

There is also an intriguing opportunity for artists to make their own work out of the exhibition with a live painting on display. A giant frame in the exhibition will hold live volunteers from Hanbury Hall dressed in suitable portrait attire, and artists are being invited to come in and paint, draw or photograph them to make their own works of art.

Not to abandon the more literary aspect of DAN’s work, there will also be a number of poets visiting the exhibition with the aim of creating their own poems inspired by the art works.

The exhibition is running from Saturday, October 17 to Thursday, October 22, and entry is free, although charges still apply for anyone wanting to tour the National Trust property.
