WORCESTERSHIRE groups and organisations with plans to make their communities even better places to live are being encouraged to apply for funding.

The People's Health Trust has just launched Active Communities in Worcestershire, a funding programme for county residents wanting to improve where they live.

Using money raised by HealthThrive through The Health Lottery, People’s Health Trust is looking to invest in projects that support people living in the most disadvantaged parts of Malvern Hills, Wyre Forest, Bromsgrove, Wychavon and Worcester.

Not-for-profit groups with an income of less than £350,000 a year or an average of £350,000 over two years, can seek investment of between £5,000 and £50,000 for project lasting up to two years.

The groups would be running small projects, designed by local people, and based on an estate or in a a few streets or villages.

Projects can be almost anything that encourages strong connections between people, and improve their communities.

Applications are needed to be submitted before Wednesday, April 5, at 1pm.
