WORCESTER students tackled the subject of professional sport with the help of a Worcester Warriors star.

Luke Baldwin, scrum half for the top-flight rugby outfit, paid a visit to Heart of Worcestershire College to talk to the pupils about the different job opportunities with, and routes into, the sports industry.

Juggling a successful rugby career as well as an Open University degree in English Literature himself, Luke highlighted the importance of striking the balance between work and academic studies.

James Thorne, HND sport leader and lecturer, said: "It was a one-off valuable opportunity for students to gain an insight into top flight professional elite sport.

"Luke provided an in depth analysis of the support he receives at Worcester Warriors, and in the process allowed the students to see day to day routines of a number of specific sport experts in a variety of areas.

"I am hopeful to gain a positive relationship with Worcester Warriors and set up a number of work experience opportunities for HND Sport students."
