BRASS and woodwind players from Nunnery Wood High School have won first place at the Worcester Competitive Arts Festival.
Nunnery Wood High School's brass/woodwind ensemble played 'Rocky' and 'Brass Band Boogie' at the festival which was held at RGS Worcester on Saturday, March 11.
They won despite outstanding performances from others including Worcester City Brass.
The group were also subsequently asked to perform at The Hive at the opening of the Worcestershire Arts Festival on Tuesday, March 21.
Lauren Newman, year 10 student and band member said: "It was a fantastic experience and it was enjoyed by all who participated."
