STUDENTS at a Worcester school have said a fond farewell to a much-loved member of staff.

Win Taylor, St Vincent de Paul (SVP) leader at Blessed Edward Oldcorne Catholic College, has stepped down from her post due to ill health.

At her last meeting in charge, Niamh Dene and Marko Prindeizi – two former youth SVP members who were being taught at Blessed’s when the youth SVP was set up – attended to tell current members what happened back at the beginning in 2009.

Samar Hussain and Siân Dalgleish, youth SVP members at the school, said: "They told us how Win was always there for them to help them on their faith journey.

"They showed us all the fund raising that has gone on since the youth SVP started in 2009.

"We will miss Win very much and we wish she could stay longer."

School chaplain, Father Brian McGinley, was also there to add his grateful thanks for her outstanding work and principal Sean Devlin also lauded her contribution over such a long period of time.

Marie Yates will be the school's new youth SVP co-ordinator.
