A CARE home for people with dementia-related illnesses in Pershore has been given the thumbs up by inspectors.

Stonebow House Residential Home in Worcester Road, Peopleton, was visited by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in October and a report was published on Tuesday, February 10.

The inspectors rated the service as "good" in five key care areas, stating that residents were "positive about the care they received" and "felt safe and well cared for".

Employees of the home, which can cater for a maximum of 30 people, were similarly recognised for their hard work by the inspectors.

"Staff were available to meet people's care and social needs", provided "medicines as prescribed and at the correct time" and "took into account people's views and input from their relatives", according to the CQC report.

They also "supported people to eat and drink enough to keep them healthy" and saw that residents' "privacy and dignity were maintained".
