Sir - The recent accident concerning a pedestrian being knocked over on the Tolladine Road confirms what we who have to cross the road have known for years, that there is a serious need for crossings on the road.
There are elderly people living along the road whose lives are put in danger simply trying to get a bus, not to mention mothers trying to get children to school. I struggle daily crossing the road, which locals have dubbed worse that the M5.
Why are the lives of the people on the Newtown Road, where there are several crossings, more important than ours on the Tolladine Road where cars regularly speed, given the chance?
I am very surprised that there has not been many more serious accidents. Count the crossings on the Newtown Road and compare them to the same stretch on the Tolladine Road and tell me it's fair.
