Sir - I was sorry to read in Allcia Kelly’s article (Worcester News 10th April) that Mrs.Angela Beddow,(after four months of secrecy by the authorities) has left Perry Wood Primary and Nursery School.
I wish her well, but it is disgraceful that parents were given no comment in the four months preceding her official departure.
Naturally the parents wanted to know where the Headmistress was. Neither The Worcestershire County Council nor even The Department of Education would comment,as they said it was The Griffin Schools Trust’s responsibility which runs the Academy.
That may be so, but every parent should have the right to be given some sort of explanation in such circumstances; not ignored completely
as those people were. Why should a school think they can excommunicate the parents just because of its Academy status?
