Sir - I read with interest Peter Luff's "MP'S View" column in Fridays issue of the Worcester News. He describes what most of the UK electors thought they were voting for , namely a trading relationship with other members of The Common Market .

However , would those same people have voted to join the EU as it is now ? The answer would be a resounding NO ! Would we surrender our sovereignty , the right to govern ourselves , open our boarders to virtually anyone from Europe and even destroy our ability to defend ourselves . Never in this world!

For any politician to argue that we should remain as a member of the EU and renegotiate the terms is living in cloud cuckoo land .It just will not happen . The Prime Minister should tell us now what he wants to change and he should state categorically that anything short of these changes will result in him holding a referendum before the next general election and him recommending that we vote to withdrawer from the EU.

Perhaps David Cameron wants to be known as the worst Conservative Prime Minister in history , if so then he has almost achieved his ambition .
